ISPs are looking to conserve their bandwidth to save the extreme costs they get from their customers. Many internet service providers block illegal streaming to not only conserve their bandwidth limit, but to stop copyright fines from being issued. If your ISP has blocked the usage of uploading and downloading torrents, you can try these simple tips in order to download torrents anonymously.
Download an Encryption Torrent Client
An encryption based torrent client will mask and hide the data being streamed across the internet. Torrent clients like Bit Comet and Azureus have settings that will mask their identities and override the ISPs block. These programs are free and easy to use without difficult settings like many paid programs that have a wide array of settings and ports to enter.
Set Up the Program
Once you download your selected torrent program, click on it and let it run. Find the settings option and double click on network or connection. Each torrent program is different, so find the option that says something such as “transport encryption data” or “use protocol encryption”. These are the options that will block the ISPs from seeing the data being sent over.
Use a Proxy
Proxies are another great way to download torrents anonymously. To search for a free proxy server, look at a number of proxy websites that allow you to disguise your data when you surf the web. Hide My Ass is a popular free proxy server that masks your internet searches. Torrent applications also have proxy settings such as uTorrent. You can simply go to the options menu and select “Use Proxy Server”. This will allow your torrent to go through the ISP block with no hassle.
To gain extra protection, you can also set your internet browser port settings to “80”, although this may slow down the browser to an extent.
